Why 6 Billion People Deserve to Die in Armageddon
Oh, yeah, you forgot, they all bought Tupperware.
jehovah is such a righteous, merciful, loving god -- slow to anger, overflowing with loving kindness and blessing.
yet it somehow bothers many of you that he will shortly execute his judgment on mankind and wipe out 99.9% of the world's population, as if that somehow is supposed to conflict with his loving qualities.
personally, i have no idea why many of you feel this way.

OMG! There is a cat in the pic! That was a hilarious piece of work, Leolaia! I remember looking at pics like that as a kid and believing the sh@t! Can't believe adults actually latch on to that mess, but, alas, all my siblings and parents do.
hi ya'll - this subject might've been addressed before, but i missed it if it was.
my daughter and i were talking the other day about how it's taught by the witnesses that anything one might buy from a yard sale, garage sale, or ebay(lol) - could be 'infected' with demons.
when dd was studying, the sister told her a first-person account that a tupperware bowl she'd bought at a garage sale that supposedly wreaked havoc in her home - she was physically attacked by an incubus-type demon - and it all stopped when she threw away that plastic bowl.. perhaps the best defense against them is indifference... i don't know.
Maybe my indifference is the difference and demons are attracted to fear. Weird...
Or maybe only demons appear in the lives of the mentally ill?
for me the concept of pitting animals together to fight, maim and rip the flesh off one another is beyond cruel and inhumane.
what do you think of dog fighting at all - does anyone out there condone or enjoy that type of "entertainment"?

i doubt boxing or dog fighting would be as popular as it is if all the bettors and supporters had to fight the winners in the ring.

Disgusting, horrible, revolting - just like boxing.
People who support or bet on dog fights should have to fight the winners.
a few days ago we were studying the formation of "reaction wood" .
reaction wood is what trees develop after being tilted by a landslide, shifting ground, etc to make themselves grow upright once more.
after the traumatic event happens to the tree to tilt it over, the subsequent year's wood is denser and thicker as a result of parts of the cells of the trees growing as if on steroids.
These seedlings grow to mature trees and eventually their roots grow down and over the stump or fallen tree. In time the original stump or fallen trees decomposes and completely vanishes. However, the trees that have gorwn over the top of it will still be there in the original position: roots growing down around a now "invisible" stump or log!
In effect, the tree now looks like it is standing up on its roots, like an octopus up on its legs!
Do you have any pictures of this? I'd love to see it! I will be in Portland in the summer; are there any redwood forests in Portland, Oregon, I wonder. I've always wanted to see one in person!

Know what else is amazing - (something also I learned while reading) - those blue-headed wrasse fish can change sex?!! The most dominant (largest) female of the group becomes a male when the male of the harem croaks!!!! Astonishing.

Well, you and I do a few things blindly, too, Kudra.
I suspect it is that way for simple-celled creatures as well.
I'm about to finish reading A Rivier Out Of Eden, and all I can do is think, how amazing nature is, and how extraordinarily a long, long, long time it took for evolution to accomplish certain things, and that it really is far simpler and less mind-boggling to imagine a very brainy creator, but I think it's also an absurd idea, as well (the creation thing, I mean, although understandable that so many choose to believe such nonsense; after all, it is easier, it seems).
Research suggests that the simple "camera eye" of some organisms only took 500,000 (yes! thousand!) years to evovle, according to some computer evolutionary models. Amazing!
On the trees, it does seem logical that different species might evolve different evolutionary response patterns to similar disruptions; it's really not all that surprising that they developed similar patterns of response, just different sides of the coin - er, tree limb. very interesting!

a bethel insider in the know told me that all of the child abuse lawsuits where the watchtower bible and tract society was one of the defendants were settled back in the beginning of this year.
i questioned it and called napa myself and they were absolutely settled back then.

This is starting to hit the news!

I noticed that the Charlotte News & Observer carried the story, but not my own local paper, so I started a thread there (and almost forgot about it) a few days ago. As a result, someone came online and started talking publically about their knowledge of sexual abuse in a local cong. Blew my mind:

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that Brazilian JWs will continue to grow that 2% at year. With or without pedophiles sacandals in media.
You are right, Rosa. The higher the illiteracy rates in a country, the higher the liklihood of cult growth (like the JW's growth ONLY in illiterate countries, last I heard.
Someone, pleeze correct me if I am wrong. Maybe in some literate country there is JW growth, but I doubt it.
Additionally, Peace Corps involvement/stats in many countries around the world shows that the death rate is directly proportional to the rate of illiteracy; as in, the higher the illiteracy rate, the higher the death rate at a very young age. It makes me very sad to think of this.
